How can we live more compactly in Flanders?

This study looks at behaviour in compact housing in Flanders. We sought to understand the positive experiences of people who live compactly in order to communicate an alternative residential ideal alongside the dominant prevailing ideal of spacious dispersed living.

From those experiences, we built new images and stories focused on breaking lifemoments (e.g. family expansion) that lead to choices of compact housing. The spatial professional can start working with this study immediately because it offers an insight in the housing preferences, encourages experimentation and several interesting solutions.
