Pajottenland is a unique small-scale landscape but the consequences of climate change are becoming more and more visible.

How do we make room for renewable energy in this rich but vulnerable landscape? And how do we enable local ownership of this important transition?

The Endeavour-LAMA-ZES-BURA team, together with the province, the Regional Landscape, Pajopower and 10 municipalities, looked into the carrying capacity of the landscape and opportunities for renewable energy.

With the help of interviews, energy analyses, scenarios and participation moments, a first municipal ambition framework was signed on 18 September 2019 by the Deputation and 10 participating municipalities.

In the months that followed, the team searched for the ideal mix of renewable energy sources with the accompanying preconditions, rules and roadmaps.
