Bert Timmermans is a historian and artist and holds a Phd. in the History of Art. The focus of his doctoral research was on the interactions between elite networks, spatial transitions and the art world in seventeenth-century Antwerp. In search of a conceptual framework for his research, he turned to social geography, the sociology of art and assemblage theory. At Endeavour, his interests focus on urban transition, regional and urban development and immovable heritage. In his artistic research he starts from the pioneers of media archaeology such as Warburg and Benjamin and experimental, modernist montage.
