To combat vacancy, underutilisation and waste of space, Endeavour undertook this study together with the Department of the Environment on how to anticipate future supply and demand of space.

For different social domains, the types of space with a high probability of being freed up in the future were identified, if current trends and foreseeable developments continue.

This mapping was done through literature review, expert interviews and workshops.

Endeavour then explored the potential of different types of space and their possible reallocation/reuse, in light of future space needs.

As conclusion we looked at the policy strategies, tactics and tools that could be employed in such a transition.
